Fiona Moore is a writer, sharing her financial experiences and mindful thoughts about money. She and her husband have travelled extensively, enjoying a lifestyle they both created through their changed relationship with money.

As a couple, we have a shared interest in money matters, and how our thoughts or beliefs can greatly impact our financial health.
Over the past few years, we have initiated a number of mindset changes within our life. This has resulted in some wonderful and very positive results financially and increased life satisfaction !
And these are the changes and experiences we wish to pass on to you. We both come from long term high pressure jobs. Fiona has a strong finance background, whilst her husband is more about service and operational efficiency.
You probably know the scene right – 12 hour days, constant deadline pressure and a clear imbalance between work and lifestyle.
Interestingly, our bank balance wasn’t that healthy, mostly due to our lifestyle and spending choices.
Ultimately we all have the ability to create positive change in our life !
We made a very conscious decision to make positive change about 4 years ago now – by adopting mindful choices. This was mostly about learning new mind management technique. And not allowing ourselves to have aimless or unstructured thoughts about our financial future or life goals.
“Once you make the dramatic positive change you are dreaming of, life will look completely new, fresh and open”- Kathy Caprino (Forbes.com)
We created a strong and consistent focus on how we should approach each day. Also ensuring we set clear intention for what we should achieve in the short, medium and longer term.
Additionally, learning how WE had the ability to shape our future financially. And that means also creating a more balanced lifestyle.
There is a wealth of information available to start understanding the value of mind techniques.
For us, it became a question of life satisfaction.
How could we achieve a life that provided less stress, more personal satisfaction and a more flexible happy lifestyle?
Understanding that happiness is a state of mind was a great start for us – and something personally controllable.
The moment we accept that we can control our thoughts, shaping our beliefs and ideas then follows, and positive outcomes begin to form.
Its important to accept, that we are all different and may approach situations in our own personal way.
So what we share here, may or may not resonate with you.
One thing is certain – my husband and I have learned to always keep an open mind to every opportunity that presents itself.
The more open your mind, the more chance you have to learn something.
I hope you take some value from Spending Choices and even start trying some of the ideas we have put in practice.
